Last night, we went to 金稻火鍋 with D 小姐 (and her bf) and also A先生. The place was packed. Luckily A先生 (the super smart one) reminded me to make a reservation given the weather, Boy was he right. EVERYONE flocked to go for Hot Pot last night.
We got there at 7:30pm and the place was steaming! 金稻 only opens during Winter and they rented additional spaces which is linked to the main space (Smart owner!) We didn't have to wait too long and got a table at the main space. The difference between us and the other space is that we use electronic and they use gas. IMO, electric gives you even 火 and it lasts forever. This was extremely good news for us because we were eating non-stop for 2 1/2 hours.
We ordered the '海鮮' which came with one round shrimps, scallops, mussels, oysters and salmon. Thanks to the newspaper coupon, we got 10% off (whoo whoo!). We had the Sichuan and clear broth soup base, but in the end they both tasted the same.
The rest of the food was pretty fresh; beef was fatty. Lamb, pork and chicken was good. Lots of selections, however I wasn't too fancy of their '自製' beef balls. It didn't taste too good.
Overall the bill came to $100 for 5 people - including tips and taxes. Oh yeah, did I mention this place is All-you-can-eat?
