According to the article, we will be getting new subway cars in late August - althought it was supposed to be here earlier. But why I am so excited it's because of the following: (For all my HK reader, you might laugh at how 'advance' we are with our transportation).
1. Security Camera in the cars
2. Germ control on each side of the door
3. 2 'BIG' cars so riders can walk through the train - I wish it was 1 car similar to the MTR in HK.
4. Flashing subway route map - FINALLY they decided to help out the tourist.
Now I am still waiting for Wi-Fi connection in the subway cars and the security glass doors at every station. Although I won't hold my breath on when they will have them available but I truly hope that the Transit commission will see how behind Toronto transit system is, compared to the ones in Asia.
Will someone at the commission please wake up and take a look around at how other cities have been growing with their underground transport system?
