I think by now everyone already knows the winner of Best Picture for this year's Oscar is 'Slumdog Millionnaires'. Have any of my readers seen this movie yet? If not, I suggest you should. Here's the reason why:
The plot is refreshing. Not your usual Hollywood scripting.
I'm serious, this movie is not something you'd paid to see a movie theatre unless you've heard it from someone who has actually seen it before.
Well most people have seen it and they loved it. I am NOT much of a movie person. But after hearing all the hypes around this movie. I asked my bf to d/l it and we watched it one Saturday evening. We both came with the same conclusion as the credit started rolling - this was a great movie.
Me, living in a city that prides itself on multiculturisim - Hearing people speak with an accent is a norm for me. In fact, the famous comedian Russel Peters hails from the town known for its Indian population often makes fun of his own kind. Examples of well known jokes around the world include...
- Screwing the light bulb and petting your dog
- Slightly shaking your heads from left to right
- etc..etc... you get the picture
This movie goes beyond the normal prejudicism. It brings you to a part of an unknown world which exist very much today. Sad, but true.
So for all my readers, push aside all our prejudice against 'A-cha' and watch this movie for its content only and you'll be quite surprised how fast a 2hr movie goes by.

if you love it, go watch it at a movie theatre to support the movie producers. Support creativity.
I watched the movie for the first time on download as well, but I will buy the DVD as soon as it comes out.
